THE LIFTY COLLECTION · DUBLIN

Choose your ride

Three ways to move. Find the one that fits your day.

Explore models, specifications and availability in each collection.

Less guesswork. More good rides.

The best ride fits your real life: your route, your storage space and how you like to move. Here’s how the three compare.

Familiar feel · pedal assist

E-bikes

Your daily ride, with a little extra push.

Great for
Longer everyday trips, hills and weekend exploring. A suitable rack or cargo bike can help with bags and shopping.
The good bits
Comfortable seated riding; bigger wheels; useful carrying options on equipped models. Qualifying pedelecs can use Bike to Work.
The trade-offs
More storage space and weight than a regular bicycle. You still pedal, and tyres, brakes and drivetrain need care.
Getting the hang of it
If you already cycle, the controls will feel familiar. Practise starts, braking and the assist modes before tackling busy routes.

Standing ride · easy to store on some models

E-scooters

Small footprint. Big change of pace.

Great for
Short solo journeys on a compliant commuter model, or private-land riding on a performance scooter. Choose the route before the motor.
The good bits
No pedalling; many models fold for storage; a practical option when space is tight. Always check the actual folded size and weight.
The trade-offs
Small wheels need more care around potholes. Standing can feel tiring, and powerful models can be heavy. No goods or passengers on Irish public-road scooters.
Getting the hang of it
Practise throttle response, progressive braking and turns in a permitted, traffic-free space. Simple controls still need confident handling.

Balance-led · the biggest learning commitment

Electric unicycles

One wheel. A whole new skill.

Great for
A new riding hobby and skills practice on permitted private land. EUCs are not an Irish public-road commuting option.
The good bits
A compact footprint and a rewarding balance-based ride. Many have a trolley handle for wheeling them when you step off.
The trade-offs
The steepest learning curve here. Larger batteries add weight; protective equipment and instruction add to your budget. No Bike to Work eligibility.
Getting the hang of it
Start with supported mounting, then repeatable starts, stops and wide turns. Build control at your own pace; there is no guaranteed learning time.

What does a full charge cost?

The battery size matters more than the number of wheels. Try your electricity unit rate below to compare three example batteries. Bigger batteries cost more to fill; they do not guarantee a particular range.

€0.35/kWh is an illustrative starting value, not a current tariff quote. Use the VAT-inclusive unit rate on your own bill.

E-bike example€0.20500 Wh · per full charge
E-scooter example€0.401000 Wh · per full charge
EUC example€0.812000 Wh · per full charge
How we work it out

Estimated cost = battery Wh ÷ 1,000 × your €/kWh × 1.15. We allow an illustrative 15% extra energy for charging losses. Actual losses, battery condition and tariffs vary. Examples assume an empty-to-full charge and exclude standing charges. These battery sizes are illustrations, not the specifications of the three products pictured above.

Electricity is only part of ownership: budget for locks, protective gear, tyres, brake wear, servicing and eventual battery replacement. Use the supplied or manufacturer-approved charger and follow the battery instructions.

Bike to Work savings depend on your tax position and employer approval; they are not a retail discount. The scheme is generally available once every four tax years. E-scooters and electric unicycles do not qualify. Do not buy personally and expect reimbursement under the scheme.

Instalment finance is credit. Missed payments can lead to arrears and may affect access to future credit. Terms and availability can change; review the provider’s current agreement. Employer salary sacrifice and consumer finance are separate payment routes.
