Choosing bike lights
- To be seen in town: a compact USB set such as the Giant Recon HL 100 & TL 100 combo or AXA Dwn set.
- To see on unlit roads and greenways: a brighter headlight such as the Giant Recon HL 600 or HL 1800.
- E-bike lights: AXA lights wired to the e-bike battery (6–12V or 6–48V; check your bike first).
- Rear and brake lights: AXA Juno, Dwn Rear brake light and Giant Recon TL.
Bike light rules in Ireland
Irish law requires a white or yellow front light and a red rear light, plus a red rear reflector, when you cycle after dark. The RSA also recommends lights in poor daytime visibility.
