About Bike Pumps & Tools Ireland & Buying Guide
Technical advice, Dublin workshop support & Irish road regulations
Bike pumps and tools in Ireland: floor pumps with pressure gauges, mini pumps, CO2 inflators, multi-tools and puncture and tubeless repair kits from Giant, SKS, Zefal, Beto and Unior.
What to carry and what to keep at home
- At home: a floor pump with a gauge (Giant Control Tower, SKS Air-X-Press) to keep tyres at the right pressure.
- On the bike: a mini pump or CO2 (Giant Control Go, SKS Airflex, Giant Control Blast), a multi-tool (Giant Toolshed) and a patch or tubeless repair kit.
- Valves: most pumps here fit both Presta and Schrader (car-type) valves; check each product.
Need a new tube or tyre? See bike tyres and tubes. Lifty Labs also handles e-bike repairs in Dublin (booking required).
Questions
What pressure should my bike tyres be?
Check the range printed on the tyre sidewall. As a rough guide, road tyres run around 80–100 psi, hybrid tyres 50–70 psi and mountain bike tyres 25–35 psi.
Presta or Schrader valve: which pump do I need?
Presta valves are thin with a small locknut; Schrader valves are the same as on car tyres. Most of our floor pumps have a head that fits both.
