Upgrade the ride, not the risk
A worthwhile upgrade should solve a real problem: punctures, braking feel, wet-weather resilience, worn components, limited comfort or an ageing battery. Lifty checks the exact model, version, voltage, dimensions, mounting points and current condition before recommending work.
Workshop upgrade options
Tyres and puncture reduction
Pneumatic, reinforced, PMT, Pirelli and selected solid-tyre options where the exact rim, size and intended use are compatible. Solid tyres change comfort, grip and wheel stress, so they are not automatically the best answer.
Brakes and control
Brake servicing, pads, rotors, cables, hydraulic systems and selected Magura options where mounts, cut-off sensors and system compatibility allow. Stopping performance is assessed as a complete system.
Water-resistance work
Inspection and model-specific sealing improvements around vulnerable areas. No workshop treatment makes every vehicle fully waterproof, changes the manufacturer’s rating or removes the need for careful wet-weather use.
Battery and charging
Battery health assessment, safe replacement and selected capacity work after voltage, controller, enclosure, BMS, connector and charger checks. Damaged batteries require specialist handling.
Diagnostics and electrics
Controller, display, motor, sensor, charging and wiring diagnosis before parts are replaced. A similar symptom can have several causes, so diagnosis comes before a quotation for electrical work.
Suspension and restoration
Condition-led suspension work, bearings, fasteners, replacement components, restoration and selected customisation where safe, model-compatible parts are available.
Annual and mini services
Inspection and maintenance based on mileage, use, wear and the current condition of the scooter or e-bike. Safety-critical faults are identified before optional upgrades.
E-bike conversion assessment
Assessment of suitable conventional bicycles for eligible conversion components. Frame condition, wheel strength, brakes, fit, legal rating and intended use must all be checked.
Compatibility comes first
Parts that look similar are not necessarily interchangeable. Installation, final price and turnaround depend on the exact vehicle, existing damage, previous modifications and stock. Performance modifications can change handling, legal classification and manufacturer warranty.

Upgrade FAQs
Can every electric scooter use solid tyres?
No. Rim design, tyre size, motor layout, heat, grip and ride quality all matter. Lifty confirms compatibility before installation.
Can waterproofing make a scooter fully waterproof?
No. Sealing work can improve resistance on compatible models, but it does not guarantee protection against deep water, submersion, pressure washing or every form of water ingress.
Can Lifty upgrade an e-scooter battery?
Selected replacements or upgrades may be possible after checks covering voltage, enclosure space, BMS, controller, connectors and charger. Not every platform is suitable.
Can an upgrade make a scooter legal for Irish roads?
Do not assume so. Public-road legality depends on the scooter’s complete certified specification and manufacturer’s plate, not simply a speed setting or app limit.
