Official Legal & Technical Notice

Workshop Service & Repair Liability Disclaimer

Personal light electric vehicles (e-scooters, e-bikes, and e-mobility systems) operate under demanding mechanical stress and high electrical currents. Please review the following mandatory technical terms, risks, and liability limitations prior to booking or undertaking any workshop repair, diagnostic service, or component installation.

01

Pre-Existing Wear & Hidden Structural Stress

Vehicles presented for repair or assessment frequently have concealed collision history, frame fatigue, hairline stress fractures, stripped factory threads, or water ingress not readily detectable upon visual intake. Lifty Labs and its technicians accept zero liability for pre-existing structural flaws, seized or corroded fasteners, or secondary component failures revealed during diagnostic inspection, standard disassembly, or subsequent road testing.

02

High-Voltage & Lithium-Ion Battery Hazards

Lithium-ion battery packs (36V to 72V+) carry inherent risks of thermal runaway, internal short-circuiting, and chemical fire. Lifty Labs performs diagnostic health scans, exterior terminal repairs, and genuine OEM pack replacements only. In strict accordance with workshop fire safety standards, Lifty Labs strictly does not perform battery cell repacking, cell rebuilding, or internal spot-welding modifications. Any customer using unauthorized third-party fast chargers, modified wiring harnesses, or bypassed BMS systems assumes 100% personal liability for resulting thermal damage or fire.

03

Firmware, Speed Tuning & Aftermarket Modifications

Installing custom firmware (CFW), removing factory speed limiters, modifying P-settings, or fitting non-OEM high-amp controllers forces motors, batteries, and wiring looms to operate outside certified engineering tolerances. Lifty Electric accepts no liability for blown controller MOSFETs, melted motor phase connectors, BMS shutdowns, or component fires caused by modified vehicle electronics. Lifty Labs does not support or warrant vehicles modified to exceed statutory speed caps.

04

Mandatory Pre-Ride Safety Check & Operator Responsibility

Due to harsh road surface vibrations across Dublin, the vehicle owner is legally required to conduct a thorough pre-ride inspection before every trip. This includes verifying tyre pressures (cold PSI), tightening folding stem latches and wheel axle nuts, testing front and rear mechanical/hydraulic brake bite, and checking throttle return springs. Safe riding habits, helmet wearing, and strict compliance with the Irish Road Traffic (Electric Scooters and E-Bikes) Regulations 2024 remain the exclusive legal responsibility of the operator.

Electric scooter repairs in Dublin

Lifty Electric’s workshop at 157 Capel Street supports riders with tyres, punctures, brakes, servicing, diagnostics, charging faults, electrical work, batteries, assembly and model-compatible water-resistance work. Choose a listed service below or start with diagnostics when the cause is unclear.

Start with the symptom

Tyres and punctures

Correct tyre size, tube, valve, rim condition and installation are checked. Repeated punctures can indicate pressure, rim tape, tyre damage or load problems.

Brakes

Pads, rotors, cables, calipers, hydraulics and alignment are assessed together. Do not ride with uncertain stopping performance.

Power or charging

Error codes, charger behaviour, connectors, wiring, battery and controller symptoms help determine the correct diagnostic path.

Steering or vibration

Stem, headset, folding mechanism, wheel, bearings, suspension and fasteners may all contribute. Stop riding if anything feels loose or unstable.

Water ingress

Switch the vehicle off, do not charge it and contact the workshop. Water-resistance work reduces risk on compatible models but is never a universal guarantee.

Routine servicing

Mini and annual services are matched to use, mileage, wear and vehicle condition, with safety-critical issues identified first.

Before you travel

Send the exact brand, model and version, describe when the fault occurs, include error codes and clear photos, and confirm workshop availability. Labour listings may not include replacement parts or additional faults discovered during inspection.

Do not ride a vehicle with uncertain brakes, steering, structural integrity, battery safety or charging behaviour. Do not charge a wet, swollen, impact-damaged or unusually hot battery.
